Man on Ocean Drive

Man sitting with an empty chair besides him on Ocean Drive, South Beach. He told me his name at one point, but I have forgotten it now.

Wedding today, then hitting the road the make my way eventually back to Provo. I'll be back and blogging in a few days.

Art Deco Boardwalk

It snowed all weekend, which has resulted in me looking through pictures I took in Miami a month ago, more specifically that middle image which told the temperature and then comparing it to the snow outside. I had forgotten that I took so many pictures of the buildings there. They were really neat with a specific style. I have a million, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more soon, especially if this weather keeps up.

Oh and in case you were wondering: today is my birthday and I am now 22.

Homes in the Everglades

While in Florida recently, I got to go to the Cypress Valley in the Everglades. We walked around the swamps around Big Cypress Gallery, a gallery consisting of large format black and white work by Clyde Butcher. I photographed a lot of the landscape (which will eventually show up on here), but I really liked the homes in the swamp. It kind of made me want to become a park ranger. Kind of. If I liked landscape photography I think I would for sure be a park ranger when I grow up.

Alligators at the Everglades

It has been a life goal since I was disappointed at the lack of wild alligators that I did not see in Lousiana to go see alligators. Luckily, I just went to Florida. More specifically, the Everglades.

Venetian Pool, Miami

There is a pool known as the Venetian Pool for it's architecture down in Miami. This past week while I was there we went to go photograph it, but it was under construction, so instead of being filled with water, like usual, it was empty and closed off, yet still beautiful.

April Fools.

I'm not really in Miami, I'm in the Dominican Republic.

Well, not really, but almost. I am for real in Florida, but it feels so much like it that I continually forget where I am. It looks and feels exactly like it. Today we went to Little Havana, not anything like Little Haiti as I thought it would be, but still alright. It's the Cuban district of town, but there is not much going on there. However, I did get to brush up on my Spanish, found a great Dominican couple from Santo Domingo who ran a hair salon, and take a few pictures, including this one, which was a sign for the national beer of the Dominican Republic (yes, they do have a national beer named after the president).
