E-6 Film Developed by Hand

I have been wanting to learn how to develop color film for a while, as intimidating as all 6 chemicals and specific temperatures are. For my color photography class I am doing a presentation on E-6 film, and so my teacher allowed us to have his chemicals and learn how to do it. Here are two of my images from my first successful roll (note, not my first attempted roll). It was shot on a Holga, so they are dark and rough, but that just means I need a medium format camera.

The Subway, Zion's National Park, Utah

A while back, as in about 7 months ago, I hiked this slot canyon in Zion's National Park. It's been a while since then and my recent essay due on Karl Marx has inspired me to edit and upload pictures from this trip. I did a post a while back, but figured I should do a complete photo essay.

Belly Dancer in High Key

Recently Shalee from Back Star Dance allowed me to photograph her for an assignment in my studio class. The assignment was to make a high key portrait. The first one was my favorite and the one that I turned in, but the other two were my backup favorites. She and another one of her friends came in for a session with me, more to come later of her friend.

Not so secret spots

Utah Lake and the Provo airport are two of my not so secret spots in Provo to go to when I'm bored or need to get out. I was recently doing a photoshoot at Utah Lake and saw a small plane coming in, coming in two of my favorite not so secret spots in Provo.

Announcement: Bosnia 2010

Dear friends, family, and people of the web,
I have an announcement to make: I am going on another photo adventure this summer, this time to Bosnia. I know many of you are concerned about the idea that it is a war zone and extremely dangerous, but really, it has been war free form 15 years (the purpose of me going). Also, Bosnia is in Eastern Europe (see map below) and not in Africa or South America (both of which I have been told it is where it is at). I'll be in Sarajevo, aka the Jerusalem of Europe, for a month or so at some point in the summer. It should be epic.

(not my picture, but this is the city)

Word of the Day: Refinement

Images from a photo shoot for my portrait photography class in which I had to portray the word "Refinement". Thanks to Kristi T. for giving me some of her time to photograph her. The first one was the image I chose to turn in.
