Hannah at the Well

I have completely forgotten everything I learned in my digital technology class and can't do a thing on Illustrator now. (ex: save an image without the white background). But here's an idea of what I was trying to do.. just playing around with some photos taken today.and then some more normal photos::

20 Hours in Las Vegas.

En route to coming home to San Antonio for the holidays, I drove down to Las Vegas with an old roommate for a friend's wedding. We drove in and got in mid-afternoon in which we took a quick nap and got ready for the wedding then split for the strip to see what was going on. Here are just a few of my favorites from the day: a photo of the happy couple just being funny and then the ceiling in The Paris downtown.

Life on the Red Couch

This is our couch. Apparently one day it was found on our lawn and it moved into our house where it fits perfectly and has stayed ever since. I believe that this couch that is the reason why people keep coming back to our house.

Life on the Red Couch: A photo series I plan on continuing. Some of these are more serious than others, but mostly not serious at all. That is all part of the red couch. The one of me is taken by the wonderful Charla depicted below.

Painted Temple, cont.

Today I turned in my photo essay for my final in photojournalism. If I were talented I would make a slideshow, but I am lazy, so instead I'll just post my favorite few that have not already been posted. They're in the right order, but I didn't put a few in that I didn't feel were as strong or that I have already posted, but you get the general idea of how my essay went.

Thanksgiving Break, Day Six: Woodshavings Yard

There are a few different types of yards: a junk yard (a yard of junk), a ship yard (a yard of ships), a steel yard (a yard of steel), but what would one call a yard full of woodshavings? Whether it would be called a woodshavings yard or not, that is what I will call it.

Thanksgiving Break, Day Four: Freaky Vegetable Show

It is a Friday night and I am taking photos of vegetables. Be jealous.
Inspired by Charla's freaky vegetable show poster from a not so freaky vegetable show in England that she went to, I'm going to take photographs of vegetables. In a freaky way. Don't ask me what that will be, but this will be another installment with more to come.

Take one: Beets.

Thanksgiving Break, Day Two: Provo Ink

So today I went on an excursion to Painted Temple right near Diego's Taco Shop. Oak was the tattoo artist of the afternoon. He ended up doing this beautiful tattoo based off of painting of a nurse holding a dying tree. You can't really see it by the two photos I posted, but if you know what I'm talking about you should tell me the name because I forgot it and loved it.
Anyways, there are more to come because I think this is what I'm going to end up using for my final photo essay in my photojournalism class. But here is just a sneak peak.

Thanksgiving Break, Day One: Skier Portraits

Over break I have a goal of going out on a photo shoot a day, building up my portfolio before I apply to the photography major in February.

Today I went up to Alta to go ski, but before hand I went over to Snowbird because I decided cooler people are there as opposed to the snobs that go to Alta. So I just hung out outside the lodge and talked to people and photographed them. I'm going to start an installment of portraits of skiers/snowboarders. I think it could be cool. We shall see. So here is what I did today. I can't decide which of the two of the guy in the blue jacket is best, let me know what you think.

Basketball and Flying

I love photographing basketball because I feel like I am capturing people as they fly.

(and I love that guy's face)

Prop 8 Protest

Attracting over 3,000 protesters, a demonstration was held in Salt Lake City on Friday night. They held up signs and chanted things such as "Separate church and state" and "Gay or straight, love is great". It was interesting because the protest was relatively peaceful, minus those protesting the protest and all the contention they were causing...
