Balloon

Over the weekend I was sent out on an assignment for the Desert News. It was for a story regarding breast cancer and awareness through sports and I was sent out to photograph the Provo High vs. Timpview High School football game. This was the kind of pictures I came back with. There were some that looked like photojournalism images, but a lot ended up like this.

What if...

What if I did a series of images from Sarajevo that looked something like this.
[Rough version of my developing idea.]
Juxtaposing current pictures with pictures of war. Visualizing how although the war is over and people have moved on, there is still an underlying current of war, everybody has a story they tell whether provoked or not. It still is there although initially you wouldn't think so.
Just a thought.

Installations and Fine Things

A roommate of mine [Heather Robinson] studies studio art at BYU with me, and for an installation class she did this book project. Installation art is where you create art for a specific space. Sometimes it is a corner of a gallery, sometimes it is in a public elevator, or under a staircase. Hers was for bookshelves in book stores. She turned old books into art by creating collages inside of them with notes she's written, drawings she made, or cut outs from magazines or fliers from other exhibits. They are little vignettes of her life, put onto shelves for anyone to see. She is reverse shop-lifting, by going into stores and leaving these books on the shelves for unsuspected people to find. She asked me to photograph her project for a class, as for the actual books, they are now on shelves if you can find them.

Photographs for Sale.

Hello, all. I currently have a small exhibit up in the Orem Juice n Java (off State St.). It is some of the work that has been floating around the Provo Juice n Java as well as various other places, plus some new ones from recent exhibits. They are all for sale, 11x14 matted in frames ($40) and 8x10 matted in frames ($20). Go check it out, if you get a chance.
I also have a box of small prints ($1), medium ($5), and 8x10 as large ($10) that need to go. Let me know if you are interested in looking through them, or if you want something that is not offered or are far away, check out my website to buy them, custom, to be whatever size and picture you want. If there is not something there that you want, e-mail me, and I'll get it to you.
