Kiddies at the Kiddie Park

Last summer I got to photograph a friend from high school and her family. She asked me to take pictures a year later. I've been wanting to do family pictures at the Kiddie Park off Broadway in San Antonio for a while and I finally got to! It was fun, and the location is perfect. However, we didn't know about a large private event during our shoot, but somehow we were able to stay and play and photograph without being kicked out (although a million kids running around is quite distracting for a nearly 2 year old).

The Grayam Family in Stone Oak Park

Another family I got to photograph recently was the Grayam family and they were wonderful because, who doesn't love a family of four boys? It doesn't get any more lucky than that. We headed out to Stone Oak Park where we took pictures in fields for mom and then with caterpillars for the boys. We also were able to get down into one of the large caves in just one area of the park to climb over rocks and take some pictures for some family pictures in a cave. Awesome.

Tobler Family

I've only been in San Antonio for about 30 hours and I've already started photo-madness with multiple family sessions, booking more, and all on top of thinking that I'll try to learn some Croatian before I take off (5 days!). The Tobler family has been one of the families I photographed. They were actually one of the first friends of my family when we moved here 10 years ago. I remember being 12-years old and scared when I had a stomachache shortly after moving here while my mom was gone. I didn't know what to do, so I called the only adult I knew, Lucy Tobler, to come take care of my little brother while I thought I was going to die. Since then, cell phones have been more wide-spread and I'm sure both her and my mom have forgotten about that.

Warren Family Picture Time

This last weekend I got to photograph an old friend of mine and her family. I grew up with this girl and was excited when she got married, and pregnant, and now is a grown up. I loved photographing her and her husband and daughter because they are all quite wonderful.

If you want to see more pictures from this session, go here.

Family Pictures in the First Snow

Almost two weeks ago I got to photograph my friend Mary's family. She's one of my manager's sisters and my new adventure buddy who's quickly getting me into rock climbing. We shot on the morning after our first big snow which, naturally, resulted in a snowball fight between the two boys. All throughout the session they were provoking one another which left me with some fantastic pictures of them putting one another in headlocks--the only way to photograph brothers.

Christmas Portraits with a Snowman

Yesterday I got to photograph a good friend in the photo department Elise and her husband. She does beautiful work and her husband is the graphic designer who did my advertising for my show that is still up in the BYU library. They wanted photographs for a Christmas card that wasn't their wedding pictures from last year, so I went over to build a snowman in their front yard. We primarily shot on my Holga (which I'm becoming more and more obsessed with) and a few digital. Elise was joking about if I was excited to post these on my blog, and apparently I am because they've gone up so fast. So here are a few favorites and to see more, go here.
